Jo Milnes who manages West
End Farm has been around horses most of her life. Having progressed through the
Pony Club which she represented at most disciplines from Prince Philip Cup to
Eventing. On leaving school she spent time gaining experience at different
yards before taking her BHSAI at the age of 17.5 at Snainton Riding Centre. She
then attended Warwickshire College to study for a Diploma in Horse Management.
Since leaving school she has always produced her own horses and has
competed at most disciplines including Riding Club Nationals in show jumping,
eventing and cross country. This also included twice being placed in the RC Top
Score Final at Olympia International Horse Show on a horse that she nursed back
from a near fatal injury.
She has now taken a back seat from competing
to be responsible for the production, rehabiltiation and recovery of horse's in
her care whilst following her children's competition success.
Jo has
always had a keen interest in updating her knowledge in the rapidly changing
equestrian world she has recently gained Recommended Associate Status from
Intelligent Horsemanship and is a holder of Monty Roberts Preliminary
Certificate in Horsemanship.
In February 2008 Jo attended a DEFRA AI
Technicians course at Twemlows Stud and is now a DEFRA approved AI Technician
and West End Farm are pleased to be able to once again take mares for AI to
outside stallions for the 2009 season.

Katy Blythe is the yard's main rider
particulary of the young horses and stallions. Again Katy has come through the
Pony Club system competing at both Area and Championship Level. She spent a
summer in America teaching young riders before working in a few yards including
an event yard and a pre racing yard.
She really enjoys bringing on the
young horses and together with Jo they make a good team to bring out the best
in horse's early ridden education.
Whenever possible Katy takes horses
out competing. After having had a few years break to devote time to her family
Katy had a good first season back eventing in 2009 when she had 3 horses out at
a number of events.
